Happy Birthday Love

(Jathan & Aaron)

Jathan turned 31 years old today! It is strange to think the first time we hung out he was 22... 9 years ago. WOW... time flies!! I love you mister and I hope you had a super happy birthday!

Four Days Old

My grand friend Lindsey Shaun came over today and took some darling little photo's of my little man. Here are a few I stole off of her blog. After I get the disc of the 150 plus photos we took I am sure I will post more!

The new addition

It has been so fun to be home with our new addition. Jathan and I are adjusting to getting little sleep but things are good! One thing is missing however... our little Zanna is in Montana with my family for our family reunion. It has been nice to have some time to bond with Troop and to take it easy but wow am I missing my little girl. Jathan and I both get teary eyed when we talk about her. I just can't wait to see her again, then our family will feel whole.

It is so fun to see Jathan hold his little boy. He is a proud daddy! And he is so so great with babies!I can't get enough of this picture. I think he looks so beautiful!

Uncle Julius came over last night and gave him his first Navajo blessing. He also gave him a beautiful pendleton blanket and a bow guard. Julius is so great and always gives the best gifts!!

Troop with Grandma and Grandpa Garrett.

Is that the littlest bum you have ever seen? It cracks me up!

Welcome Baby Troop!!

Troop Cody Garrett is finally here! He was born on July 30th (a day before his due date). Weighing in at a whopping 5 lbs. 15 oz. and 17 1/2 inches long.
I went into labor at5:30 pm. My contractions started out 10 minutes apart and at about 7:30 they were about every 4 min. I realized I was definitely in labor and started getting everything packed. This labor progressed much quicker than Zanna. I was not prepared for this. I thought I would have at least 5 hours at home laboring... but no. We arrived at the hospital at 8:25 and I was dilated to a 7. Once again I had back labor and Jathan was so great at helping relieve the pressure on my back through each contraction. After getting set up to the monitor and making sure the baby was doing well ( which seemed to take forever)I got in the tub for about a half hour and was dilated to a 9. After that everything happened really quickly. I did not even have time to get my gown back on before it was time to push. One big push later (no exaggeration) Troop was born. He arrived at 9:47 pm, just an hour and 22 minutes after we arrived. Everything went really well! It was all really intense but everything went smoothly! I can't believe he is here!

All snuggled up in the minky blanekt my mama made for him.

Zanna does not fully understand what is going on but she was so sweet with him. She liked to hold him for about 30 seconds and was then off to the next exciting thing in our hospital room.

Uncle Christian.

Oh so cute! It is so strange to think I have two children!!

My little honey!

So sweet. Zanna climbed up on the bed and laid down above him and just stared at him. It was darling.
He is such a sweet beautiful baby boy. It has been so fun to have a newborn again. It is really like having a little slice of heaven. There is just such a beautiful spirit in our home with this little guy!
Zanna was so into him in this picture. She likes to rub the hair on his head... and he is a hairy little guy! He has black peach fuzz all over his forehead, cheeks, his ears, legs, back, bum... everywhere! So cute!

When we left the hospital he was 5 lbs 7 oz. He looked so tiny in his car seat! I can't imagine him ever fitting into it but sadly he will grow all too fast. I am trying to cherish this time while he is just teeny!

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, American Fork City holds a fireman's breakfast at the fire station. Jathan has gone ever since he was a little boy and it looks like it is now one of our family traditions as well. While waiting in line to get in they let all the little kids climb all over a fire truck. Here is Zanna sitting on the truck, and yes that is a death grip on her bottle :)
And in the truck.

Jathan's dad is the sexton for the American Fork cemetery and he does such a good job of keeping the grounds looking beautiful.

While at the cemetery we visited Jathan's dad (who oversees the cemetery) and saw Jathan's aunt Lisa's grave.
Zanna enjoyed riding all over on her daddy's shoulders.

Great Grandpa Garrett

How darling is this photo? Jathan's grandpa (who still gets around on his own two legs very well) is always giving the kids rides on grandma Alta's wheel chair. He just cruises up and down the lane with them and they love it. Sitting along side Zanna are Brinley and Shane, Chelsea's (Jathan's cousin) cute little kiddos.

A Day At The Barn

After church a few Sundays ago (June sometime :) we decided to go to Jathan's grandparents barn and enjoy the beautiful weather!

This cute little baby still doesn't have a name... we are the worst! Any suggestions??

Zanna couldn't get enough of these little dandy lion puffy things. Totally can't remember what they are called. Do they even have a name?? The fields were Chuck full of them!!

Hanging out with her daddy.

My ever growing belly!

Action shot! She even has her eyes closed. Just blowing with all her little lung power!!

Zanna had quite the time decorating mason in all of the dandy lion seeds. By the time she was through he was covered in them!

Baby Horse

Jathans horse Ice had her cute little baby on April 16th, the coldest day in all of April. There was a crazy huge snow storm the night she was born... These pictures are old but I just had to post pics of the cute little one! She is darling and it has been so fun to have a baby horse to play with~!

She is a Dunn so she has this awesome little dorsal stripe going down her back.
Zanna was loving this little baby! It kind of looks like the baby is going to try to jump over her... but don't worry she didn't. She was just on wobbly new legs!

Jathan... a very proud owner!

Just thought I would throw in this pregnant shadow profile pic!

Bryce Canyon

Zanna and I went to Bryce Canyon with most of my family last month and had a blast! Jathan could not go unfortunately because of work :( Next time love!

The Cook Tent

My parents got this phenomenal tent to cook in. It was so nice to be out of the wind and away from the bugs! Zanna was loving that she had her own little camp chair to sit in.

Swimming!
There was a pool at the camp ground we stayed at. So while my dad, Corby and Mikelle went on a horse ride, we went swimming!

Totally exhausted after a long day of playing and swimming.

Good morning! Check out that cheeser!~

Hiking!
Carolynn and her little ones, Hanna and me and my little one went hiking while the rest of the family went on a horse ride. This hike was amazing. It was so beautiful. Check out the switch backs! This trail went down to a tiny little slot canyon. It was a pretty cool little hike. I got a bit of anxiety when I was not holding Zanna. She just wanted to run the whole way down.

Carolynn and her kiddo's.

Breathtaking. If you have not been then you should definitely go!
