My OBSESSION with the timer.

I have a recent obsession of timing things. I find it a lot easier to start a job I do not want to do if I set the timer for an alloted amount of time and see if I can get it done in that allotment or before. Such as cleaning the bathroom closet or the refidgerator or organizing other parts of the home that get a little out of hand :) But it does not stop there... oh no. I will set the timer for five minutes and see how many clothes I can fold when doing laundry. I will see if I can make the bed in two minutes. The thing I do most often is I will set the timer for 10 minutes in each room of the house. Once the timer goes off I leave that room and go to the next. If I get done before the 10 minutes is up then I have to figure out what can be organized in that room. Then once I have spent 10 minutes in each room I am done and can move onto other projects!
I believe this timing business stems from my mother always setting a timer for me to get my room done when I was a little girl. Oh the funny ways we are molded from child hood experiences. So yes I am obsessed... weird... definitely!
*I do have a timer that looks just like the one in the picture... and I love it. It goes into every chore with me :)

That is so funny! I love it! I bet it really helps. Maybe I should get a timer, too! Although, I kinda try not to look at the time because I started making the days too long, watching the clock to see if it was getting any closer to when Paul gets home!

Merm,

YOur so funny. I love that you time yourself doing your chores around the house. I guess it makes it makes it a little bit more fun.
Michael was on your blog the other day and loved your music by the way.
So I have a Canon EOS 20D, I absolutely love it. It's so great. Scott just got the new one that came out the 40D, I think. It's amazing!! Let me know what you decide on. A good camera is worth the money.

What a great idea! I might have to try this timer thing out. You are such a cute little mommy! I remember the first time I met you and you sang "Darin's got a girlfriend" to me all night. I thought you were so adorable and you still are.
