Playing dress up!

My aunt Shawna sent this cute little ballerina outfit to Zanna. She loves it! She flutters about in it and was quite excited to see herself in a full length mirror in her new super cool dance outfit! She reminds me of Shirley Temple in these photos.

I love this picture. Such a cute big smile!

lil jumper

This child is a jumper! She can get on and off the trampoline all by herself and will jump and jump and jump... She likes to do little tricks, her best one yet is landing on her bum!

Some Randomness

If Troop is laying on the floor Zanna is usually laying right by him. Only most of the time she squeezes onto the blanket with him.

My sister Mikelle went to Guatemala for a few weeks and brought back this cute little dress for Zanna. I LOVE it!!

Bath time. This little guy loves being bathed. He kicks his arms and legs and looks like a little frog!

Zanna loves to peak over Troop's cradle when he is sleeping.

How cute is that?
Holding her little brother.
Troop looks so old to me in this picture. I don't know why... maybe it is the expression on his face. He just looks like he knows what is going on.
Tummy time! YAY! I wish this would last longer than just a few minutes.

LIttle climber

Zanna and her crazy daddy climbing on the furniture! This little girl loves to climb. She has also recently learned to climb out of the port-a-crib!! NO!!!

Jathan is always saying we need to get her into rock climbing. I must say I agree... look at that form... ha ha!

Glad we got a two seater!

This Chariot has been awesome. I told Jathan he needed to get me a little infant swing so our little guy could go in the chariot with us. So one day he came home and surprised me with it! Now I can take both of my little kiddos!
When Troop is by Zanna she can not help but rub his hair of his face. Little cutie, I don't blame her!

Zanna decided she would have more fun riding on her daddy's shoulders. Luckily this chariot has a weather guard because we got rained on while on our outing and Troop didn't feel a drop, just slept peacefully!
What better way to end the day? I love snuggling with this sweet little boy!

Three weeks old

This sweet boy is growing so fast! Here are some photos of Troop when he was three weeks old.

Zanna loves sitting in all of Troops fun new things... such as the car seat, the bouncer and the swing. Her favorite is the bouncer. I can't keep her off of it!

You can see just how hairy this little guy was. He has fur all over his face. His cheeks always looked like they were dirty because they were hairy too! His cheek hair has since fallen off. Oh and check out his pouty lips! So cute.
Every morning Zanna wakes up saying "Baby." She loves this little guy. She first called him "toop" but she can now say "Troop". This is a typical morning with her and her little brother.
Fascinated with his tiny ears.
She has really been so sweet with him. The first few times I took Zanna outside with me to start the car without Troop she would get so nervous we were leaving him. She would almost cry saying "baby". I thought it was so sweet of her to be instantly concerned about her little brother.

Vowels

Tonight we put Zanna down to bed and about a half hour later we hear her singing in her crib. (If you have ever seen Monsters inc. when Boo is in the bathroom stall sitting on the toilet singing... that is exactly what Zanna sounds like when she sings these days. So darling.) We decided to go into her room and all lay down on the floor together. Of course as soon as we take Zanna out of her crib she is rolling, hiding under the blanket, grabbing our heads and pulling us under the blanket, she was not about to lay down and be still. She was everywhere! Jathan decides to go over the vowels with her and have her copy him... their conversation is as follows...

Jathan: A
Zanna: A
Jathan: E
Zanna: E
Jathan: I
Zanna: I
Jathan: O
Zanna:O
Jathan: U
Zanna: Me

It was hilarious!! Every time he said "U" Zanna said "Me". So funny! Oh the things children do. Jathan and I cracked up laughing every time!

Happy Birthday Love

(Jathan & Aaron)

Jathan turned 31 years old today! It is strange to think the first time we hung out he was 22... 9 years ago. WOW... time flies!! I love you mister and I hope you had a super happy birthday!

Four Days Old

My grand friend Lindsey Shaun came over today and took some darling little photo's of my little man. Here are a few I stole off of her blog. After I get the disc of the 150 plus photos we took I am sure I will post more!

The new addition

It has been so fun to be home with our new addition. Jathan and I are adjusting to getting little sleep but things are good! One thing is missing however... our little Zanna is in Montana with my family for our family reunion. It has been nice to have some time to bond with Troop and to take it easy but wow am I missing my little girl. Jathan and I both get teary eyed when we talk about her. I just can't wait to see her again, then our family will feel whole.

It is so fun to see Jathan hold his little boy. He is a proud daddy! And he is so so great with babies!I can't get enough of this picture. I think he looks so beautiful!

Uncle Julius came over last night and gave him his first Navajo blessing. He also gave him a beautiful pendleton blanket and a bow guard. Julius is so great and always gives the best gifts!!

Troop with Grandma and Grandpa Garrett.

Is that the littlest bum you have ever seen? It cracks me up!

Welcome Baby Troop!!

Troop Cody Garrett is finally here! He was born on July 30th (a day before his due date). Weighing in at a whopping 5 lbs. 15 oz. and 17 1/2 inches long.
I went into labor at5:30 pm. My contractions started out 10 minutes apart and at about 7:30 they were about every 4 min. I realized I was definitely in labor and started getting everything packed. This labor progressed much quicker than Zanna. I was not prepared for this. I thought I would have at least 5 hours at home laboring... but no. We arrived at the hospital at 8:25 and I was dilated to a 7. Once again I had back labor and Jathan was so great at helping relieve the pressure on my back through each contraction. After getting set up to the monitor and making sure the baby was doing well ( which seemed to take forever)I got in the tub for about a half hour and was dilated to a 9. After that everything happened really quickly. I did not even have time to get my gown back on before it was time to push. One big push later (no exaggeration) Troop was born. He arrived at 9:47 pm, just an hour and 22 minutes after we arrived. Everything went really well! It was all really intense but everything went smoothly! I can't believe he is here!

All snuggled up in the minky blanekt my mama made for him.

Zanna does not fully understand what is going on but she was so sweet with him. She liked to hold him for about 30 seconds and was then off to the next exciting thing in our hospital room.

Uncle Christian.

Oh so cute! It is so strange to think I have two children!!

My little honey!

So sweet. Zanna climbed up on the bed and laid down above him and just stared at him. It was darling.
He is such a sweet beautiful baby boy. It has been so fun to have a newborn again. It is really like having a little slice of heaven. There is just such a beautiful spirit in our home with this little guy!
Zanna was so into him in this picture. She likes to rub the hair on his head... and he is a hairy little guy! He has black peach fuzz all over his forehead, cheeks, his ears, legs, back, bum... everywhere! So cute!

When we left the hospital he was 5 lbs 7 oz. He looked so tiny in his car seat! I can't imagine him ever fitting into it but sadly he will grow all too fast. I am trying to cherish this time while he is just teeny!
